Description

This one-hour course will teach providers the basics of how to prescribe buprenorphine to treat opioid use disorder (OUD). It will describe the core principles of buprenorphine treatment for OUD and discuss the pharmacology of buprenorphine. It will cover prescribing recommendations, guidance and implementation strategies for new buprenorphine prescribers. Finally, this training will also touch on best practices for buprenorphine initiation, dose stabilization, maintenance and discontinuation.

Laila Khalid,MD

Laila Khalid, MD is an Associate Professor of Medicine at Albert Einstein College of Medicine/Montefiore Medical Center. She is board-certified in internal and addiction medicine. She codirects a resident-led chronic pain clinic and is an eConsultant for opioid management of ambulatory patients at Montefiore. She is also a buprenorphine clinic site champion and leads the Buprenorphine Microdosing Working Group at Montefiore.
